Our Vision
We are Sinai Animation, an independent 2d animation studio, based in Cyprus and founded in 2022. We create projects featuring the lives of Martyrs and Saints. Swimming against the mainstream media, we want to offer families entertainment, that moves, inspires, and educates along the way. Our scenarios are based on traditional values, which connect people around the world and create harmony and peace in the family households.
Furthermore, we are trying to stay as close to the historical biographies as possible while investing more time in an accurate representation of the time periods they lived in. We base the whole design on byzantine icons and their biographies.
We hope we can inspire you like the Saints inspired us for this work.
The Founders
Maria Petzolt
Co-founder | Director
Maria, one of the two founders of Sinai Animation graduated in the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt in 2022. With an award and multiple nominations in her pocket, she now works in the 2D animation industry and parallely as a lecturer in the same university. Her goal is to bring back Christian films to the family entertainment industry and make them "as amazing, as they used to be." Saint Lukas of Simferopol inspired her to found Sinai Animation and honor God through her creative work.
Dimitris Siamili
Co-founder | Producer
Dimitris, one of the two founders of Sinai Animation graduated in the Theological Faculty of the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki with postgraduate studies in Business Administration.
He is mainly responsible for the research and organisational part of the project. His vision is to help children approach the Saints easier, by writing their lives as engaging scenarios for families to enjoy and learn from.
The Team
We are a motivated team of fourteen artists and supporters, making these beautiful stories come to life.
In creating our films, we take our artistic liberties, however, our historians make sure, that the representation is as accurate as art allows.
We gathered great artists and moviemakers to join our first project, but we could always use more helping hands!
